How to start

  1. Run the command in your terminal, in the project where you want it.
  2. Set OPEN_NOTEBOOK_URL with --env or in your shell.
  3. Check it: run /mcp in Claude Code and look for it in the list.

What it needs

  • OPEN_NOTEBOOK_URLRequired. URL of your Open Notebook instance
  • OPEN_NOTEBOOK_PASSWORDOptional. Secret: keep it out of your repo. Authentication password (if APP_PASSWORD is set in Open Notebook)
