How to start

  1. Run the command in your terminal, in the project where you want it.
  2. Sign in if asked the first time Claude connects.
  3. Check it: run /mcp in Claude Code and look for it in the list.

What it needs

  • GMAIL_OAUTH_PATHOptional. Optional override for the OAuth client keys file path (defaults to ~/.gmail-mcp/gcp-oauth.keys.json)
  • GMAIL_CREDENTIALS_PATHOptional. Optional override for the stored credentials file path (defaults to ~/.gmail-mcp/credentials.json)

Environment variables as listed in the server's MCP Registry entry.
